Disappointment, but then again...

Following up on last night's movie:

I know better, I should never watch a movie after reading the book. I had so many expectations for The Devil Wears Prada, but most were not met. Sure, the movie was entertaining, but there are so many funny moments in the book I was hoping for, that realistically just could never fit into a two hour movie. Too bad someone didn't think to turn it into a TV series.

But, I got to have time for myself. Whoo-hoo! And like I said, the movie was entertaining, just be sure to read the book after seeing the movie.

And then there's tonight. Tonight? Yes, tonight, hello? Battlestar Galactica is back! Yes, I'm a sci-fi geek, can't help myself. The show is really well written, I find I'm always in suspense. Other shows my geeky side loves: Eureka and Dr. Who. Anyone else want to come out of the closet?

Sorry, I'm not with you on the sci-fi enjoyments you have named, but have you seen GATTACA? Old one with Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman. It's a gooder. Thanks for the review. I will catch the movie BEFORE the book on that one!

I thought the movie was much more snarky and mean than the book. Like you said though, it was time to myself. Saw it in the theater with a girlfriend and that made it worth it right there.

I haven't gotten into BG but my husband loves it. We also watch a lot of Firefly reruns. So annoyed that was cancelled. Most of our other geeky shows come from the food network. That Alton Brown one about the science of food is good.

The Devil Wears Prada is next on my Netflix list. Maybe it'll be worth viewing just for the clothes!

Haven't read the book or seen the movie, but I always find that reading the book first spoils the enjoyment of the movie. I just started watching Eureka and usually watch some sci-fi, but I'm not really into the space-iness of most sci-fi!

I don't see many movies... just not a movie-person, but I purposely avoid movies of books I've read.... it's always too disappointing

I'm so bad at the book/movie thing. If I see the movie, I'll never get around to reading the book. Read on!
