Highland Games

Blue skies, warm weather, and the sound of bagpipes. It's time for the Highland Games! Thanks to Grandma Ann and Auntie Margaret, Laurel and Ian were perfectly dressed.

Ian loves his kilt and is proud to show it off.

Laurel loves her outfit too!

Marching with the pipe bands.

Laurel finds a playmate.

Run away, run away!

The day wouldn't be complete without a ride in the keg train.

Best buds having a great day!

Oh, how much fun is THAT!! Looks awesome. (I'm rereading the Outlander series right now so it looks even better. You've read it, right? If not, run out and get it immediately.)

Such a bonnie lass and laddie! A local group has Highland games events every year with dancing in the evening. We're determined to get there someday - now I'm inspired to do costumes too!

How kee-yoot! This takes me back to when I was a kid living with my mother and stepfather, who was from Scotland. Kilt wearing. Did Ian toss a log? ;)

Looks like you all had a wonderful time - what great outfits the kids had on! I love the kilt on Ian, such a lil' man! And Laurel looks absolutely scrumptious in red (look at her face in that hat!). Too, too cute!

Kids in kilts -- darling. I have one for Miss Fancy but the pin still has me too shy to put it on her. And, thanks for the 13 mos of Laurel. She is lovely and that is a gorgeous birth photo of you!
